The short version.
We collect nothing. No personal information, no usage data, no documents.
Your scans are saved only on your device. The app has no internet permission, so it cannot send anything anywhere on its own.
If you back up, export or share a document, that transfer is your choice and is handled by the app or service you pick.
No ads, no analytics, no third-party trackers.
Who we are
Zx Scanner is an Android application published by Harsh Chansoria, sole proprietor, trading as Zx Tech House, India. In this policy, "we" and "us" refer to Zx Tech House and "the app" refers to Zx Scanner.
Information we collect
None. Zx Scanner does not collect, transmit or share any personal or usage data. There are no user accounts, no sign-in and no servers of ours. We never see your documents, your files, or any information about how you use the app.
Your documents and scans
Every document you create, scan or import is stored in the app's private storage area on your device. Nothing is uploaded to any server and nothing is accessible to us. You can view, rename, share, export, back up or delete your documents at any time. Deleting a document removes it from your device.
Permissions the app uses
- Camera. Used only so that you can scan physical documents. Camera images are processed entirely on your device to produce a PDF, and are never uploaded.
- Photos and media, when you choose to import. Used only at the moment you actively pick an image or file to bring into the app. Nothing is accessed without your action.
The app does not request internet or network access. Text recognition (OCR) runs on your device and does not involve any external service.
Backups you create
Zx Scanner can create a backup file of your documents. If you choose to save or share that backup to a cloud service such as Google Drive, OneDrive or Dropbox, or to another app, you are the one initiating that transfer, and the file is then handled according to that service's own privacy policy. The app does not upload your backup anywhere. It hands the file to the destination you select.
Subscriptions and payments
Zx Scanner offers an optional Premium subscription. All payments are processed by Google Play Billing. We do not receive, see or store your payment details such as card or bank information. Google acts as the seller and handles payment processing, and Google's handling of your payment information is governed by the Google Privacy Policy. Whether you hold an active subscription is determined by Google Play, and the app checks this on your device to unlock Premium features.
Third-party services
The app uses Google's on-device machine-learning components for document scanning and text recognition, and Google Play Billing for subscriptions. These run on your device or through the Google Play Store app. The scanning and text-recognition features do not send your document contents to Google or to anyone else.
Children's privacy
Zx Scanner does not collect personal information from anyone, including children. The app is suitable for a general audience.
Data security
Because your documents never leave your device and we collect no data, we hold no personal information that could be exposed. Your documents are stored in the app's private storage on your device. You can add password protection to individual PDFs within the app for extra security.
Your rights
Data protection law gives you rights to access, correct and delete personal data held about you. Since we hold no personal data about you at all, there is nothing for us to disclose, correct or erase. You control your documents directly on your device and can delete them at any time.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will appear on this page with a new "last updated" date. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
