Privacy Policy for Zx Scanner
Thank you for using Zx Scanner ("the app"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the app does — and does not — collect, and how your documents are handled. Zx Scanner is designed around a simple principle: we never collect your documents or personal data, and the app never sends anything anywhere on its own. Your documents stay on your device unless you choose to export, back up, or share them.
The short version
- We do not collect, store, or transmit any of your personal information or documents.
- Your documents are saved only on your device. The app has no internet permission — it is technically incapable of sending your data anywhere on its own.
- You stay in control: if you choose to back up, export, or share a document to another app or cloud service (such as Google Drive), that transfer is your choice and is handled by the service you pick — not by us.
- There are no ads, no analytics, and no third-party trackers.
Information we collect
None. Zx Scanner does not collect, transmit, or share any personal or usage data. The app has no user accounts, no sign-in, and no servers of our own. We never see your documents, your files, or any information about how you use the app.
Your documents and scans
All documents you create, scan, or import are stored in the app's private storage area on your device. They are not uploaded to any server and are not accessible to us. You are in full control of your documents — you can view, rename, share, export, back up, or delete them at any time. When you delete a document, it is removed from your device.
Permissions the app uses
Camera: Used only so you can scan physical documents with your device's camera. Camera images are processed entirely on your device to produce a PDF. They are never uploaded.
Photos / media (when you choose to import): Used only when you actively pick images or files to import into the app. Nothing is accessed without your action.
The app does not request internet/network access. Text recognition (OCR) is performed on your device and does not involve any external service.
Backups you create
Zx Scanner lets you create a backup file of your documents. If you choose to save or share that backup to a cloud service (such as Google Drive, OneDrive, or Dropbox) or to another app, that action is initiated by you, and the file is then handled according to that service's privacy policy. The app itself does not upload your backup anywhere — it simply hands the file to the app or destination you select.
Subscriptions and payments
Zx Scanner offers an optional Premium subscription. All payments are processed by Google Play Billing. We do not receive, see, or store your payment details (such as card or bank information). Google acts as the seller and handles all payment processing. Google's handling of your payment information is governed by the Google Privacy Policy. Whether you have an active subscription is determined by Google Play; the app checks this on your device to unlock Premium features.
Third-party services
The app uses Google's on-device machine-learning components (for document scanning and text recognition) and Google Play Billing (for subscriptions). These run on your device or through the Google Play Store app; the scanning and text-recognition features do not send your document contents to Google or anyone else.
Children's privacy
Zx Scanner does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children. The app is suitable for a general audience.
Data security
Because your documents never leave your device and we collect no data, there is no personal information held by us that could be exposed. Your documents are stored in the app's private storage on your device. You can add password protection to individual PDFs within the app for extra security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
